It’s no secret that food is essential to our bodies. Food provides us with the nourishment we need food to stay alive. It’s necessary for the growth and rebuilding of tissue and bones. It enables us to move from point A to point B. But, our society is running into some problems with food. Some researchers say we’ve become obsessed with food. Food has become the centerpiece attraction for most events in our lives whether they’re good ones or bad ones. Food has become a primary source of comfort to help us deal with the emotions from certain situations in our lives (pain, fear, anger, resentment, anxiety, and disappointment). Food has become that something we know we can control: we can eat what we want, when we want, and how much we want. Medical professionals even suggest that food has had a major impact on our healthcare system simply because it’s tied to our lifestyle behaviors. We’re using food in a way that was not intended and as result of our dealings with food our lives are unbalanced. So, what is your relationship with food?
