In talking with a young lady a couple of weeks ago about her inability to stay on track with healthier lifestyle habits, she not only discussed what and when she ate, but more so why she ate. Her eating was solely based on her emotions, rather than eating to fuel her body. She admitted repeatedly that food has been her way of dealing with uncomfortable situations and bad memories from her past. She, like so many others, is an emotional eater.

Creating a collage is an effective way of allowing your internal DID system parts to tell more about themselves. Pictures can be a powerful way of communicating. A collage - a collection of pictures - can tell a lifetime of stories. As with any exercise that includes your whole system, it can lead to greater trust, system cooperation, and internal connection.
