There is a very interesting book out called Parts Work that describes the internal family systems of a person who has had a traumatic past. It is amazing how it hits the spot, whether you are a dissociative person or not, you still have that angry, inner child and the person in charge called, ironically, the self. I love the description of the 'self', "It is like water, it is clear and quiet and calm", it is all the other 'parts' that bring the 'excitement' to life....but there is no life without 'self'. The hardest part is to get all the inner parts to work together. This is one of the things I am going to focus on at the Conference in Dallas...learning how to help my parts work together. With our wonderful line up, I think it will just be a matter of trying to fit everyone in so I can learn as much as possible. Wish me luck.
