Dissociation and the Mystery of Human Nature
Mental health professionals studying trauma and dissociation generally focus, properly, on clinical issues connected with certain forms of psychopathology. Granted, some research is more relentlessly theoretical, but even in those cases, the theoretical issues are typically rooted in underlying clinical concerns. For more than 30 years, I’ve been able to study both historical and current cases of individuals who manifest apparently anomalous and often extraordinary capacities. Typically, the phenomena appear under the guise of mediumship (or Achanneling). They often appear to be dissociative, and in virtually all cases the phenomena seem facilitated by the subjects’ belief that they are not responsible for their occurrence. We can learn a great deal from these exceptional subjects about the nature and limits of human abilities, and how dissociation and other unusual states might liberate or reveal sides of ourselves (or capacities) we might not otherwise know of and be able to examine.
Steven VasquezPhd.
developed the therapeutic use of visual brain stimulation in conjunction with attachment focused interaction in a method called “Emotional Transformation Therapy™”. He holds a doctorate in counseling psychology and is a licensed professional counselor and licensed marriage and family therapist in the state of Texas. He has developed revolutionary breakthroughs in the treatment of trauma, depression, ADHD, and a variety of anxiety disorders. Dr. Vazquez may be best known for his exciting workshop presentations conducted worldwide.
Recovery from Dissociation at the Speed of Light
A new breakthrough in the diagnosis and treatment of dissociation, Spectral Resonance Technique, has been developed that accelerates psychotherapy. It draws from scientific concepts in both quantum physics and psychology. It utilizes specific wavelengths of light in interactive procedures to identify the exact form of engagement vs. dissociation that a client is experiencing from minute to minute. This allows both the client and therapist to recognize variations of dissociation during the process of therapy. Since people who dissociate significantly are often not aware they are dissociating, they often do not believe others assessment of the dissociation. This method makes it obvious that dissociation is occurring at the moment it is happening which overcomes the obstacle of denial that often slows down treatment. However, its use is not limited to diagnostic capacities; it can be used to rapidly teach dissociative clients to engage again. Live demonstrations will allow people to see this work in action.
Ed Smith
Developer of the Theophostic Ministry process. He holds a masters degree in education (focus in marriage and family counseling) from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX and a Doctorate of Ministry from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, MO. He has presented at many national conferences to include the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC), Christian Association for Psychological Studies (CAPS), and the National Leader's Conference for Catholic Renewal.
Understanding Theophpostic Ministry
Theophostic Prayer Ministry is being used by mental health professionals, pastors, and lay ministers in over 140 countries worldwide. Studies have found that the outcome of TPM was that 95-99% reported TPM to be highly effective in resolving a sundry of emotional issues to include depression, eating disorders, panic disorders, dissociation, addictive disorders, sexual dysfunction and more. In this session Dr. Ed Smith will seek to explain the basic principles of TPM and give an overview of the process. A video of a live session will be shown to provide an example of what a session might look like.
