About the Life Beyond Trauma Forum

Trauma survivors need community. We need to feel we are not alone in our struggle to regain our footing in our lives and our world. The only way to do that is to develop connections with others who have been through similar experiences.

That’s why we set up this forum.

But out of all the hundreds of forums out there, why would you choose to participate in ours?

Our own experience on many forums on the web is that it’s a frustrating and often painful process. While they each seem to offer help and support for a while, they tend to get bogged down with drama, and sometimes, even threats to our safety.

We think that is unacceptable!

But how do you avoid it?

We believe providing this kind of protection and moderation supplies you with a kind of community you have not experienced before.

In this community we practice the application of compassion for others and ourselves. Our moderators are trained in recognizing when a discussion is losing compassion, how to help guide it back toward compassion- and how to educate members in practicing compassion.

Moderators are members of the community and share their own thoughts, feelings and questions as well as offering support and education. They are trusted guides in assisting your recovery, not heavy-handed authoritarians. All communications with moderators are posted on the forum for all to see.

There are to be no “secret” communications anywhere on the forum. Secrets are poison for relationships. They are “lies of omission” to everyone left out of the private conversation.

There is no cost to be a member, and has the potential to offer you more than you could possibly pay for if there were.

Jump into the discussion and see for yourself!
